Focus and topics

The meeting will gather the scientists who will present cutting-edge research on the fundamental processes governing flow, transport, solidification, wetting, reactive and thermal behaviour of multiple fluids, fluid mixtures, particles and their complex interactions within different nat­ural and artificial porous media environments and different gravity levels. The objective is to promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in science and technology. Mathematical tools and models needed to obtain insights and make predictions at different scales of interest are welcome.

One of the focuses of the Workshop will be on space-related aspects of transport and solidification phenomena. This includes the objectives and concept of newly proposed experiments in micro­gravity conditions in the fields of materials sciences or life sciences, so as to stimulate international cooperation for their preparation, implementation and utilisation.

The meeting will provide a unique opportunity for early career scientists, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students to interact with prominent scientists at the forefront of their research fields and present their work in poster format.

Important dates

Authors are invited to submit an abstract of one page. Abstracts should clearly state the purpose, the methodology, the results and the conclusions of the work. They should begin with a short summary. Please send abstracts by 18.03.2013.

At least one of the authors is required to register for the Conference. Otherwise the abstract will not be considered.

• Notification of acceptance before or on 25.03.2013
• Early registration before or on 15.05.2013

The TPF-1 Workshop will take place in National Academy of Sciences Conference Hall, on June 24-26, 2013.

Symposium working language is English.

Registration fee for the participants

Regular registration fee - 150 Euro (or equivalent in UAH).
